Excavations in the city centre of ancient Doliche have provided new insights into monumental architecture in Roman northern Syria. A recent article published in the Journal of Roman Archaeology presents the results of investigations into a monumental temple. As one of the largest temple buildings currently known from the region, it offers new perspectives on urban development, religious life, and architecture in Roman Syria.
